Palehorse/Palerider - Sundowning

from FuzzHeavy Sampler - February 2018 by FuzzHeavy

about

In some spheres of philosophical thought the primary distinction between human and animal is the humans overwhelming compulsion to categorize. This compulsion has lead to a steadily increasing pool of portmanteau-ized musical genres and subgenres. Of these modern descriptions Palehorse/Palerider could probably best categorized as 'Doomgaze'; combining the styles and sensibilities common to shoegaze, but with a somewhat darker overall sound and message.

Band Members:
Brandon Richier (Guitars and Vocals),
Nathan Marcy (Drums),
David Atkinson (Bass Guitar)

"Sundowning" was originally released on the album Burial Songs by Palehorse/Palerider, February 3, 2017.

lyrics

Held by the grips of winter
Bound by the dark
Hands tremble, a thunderous ring
Shadow of a life ending

Set me free when the bells of the morning ring

Sleep at the rise of the sun
Memories of the past
Celestial light guides through the gloom
Light fades darkness grows

Set me free when the bells of the morning ring

The darker the night, the brighter the stars
Take me home
